Goliath – Butcher Babies (CD Review)
I don’t often review music because I honestly don’t listen to a lot of new bands or new releases from the bands I like. I guess I’m getting old and set in my ways. However, I feel that I must mention the new and first full length release by Butcher Babies. I first heard this band when they opened for Marilyn Manson in Vancouver last February (review here) and I was quite impressed. In fact they were better performers than Manson but all of that is in the review of the concert.

When I first listened Goliath I wasn’t sure I liked it. Some of the songs seemed a bit tamer than the few that I had heard before but after a couple of listens I must say I am really enjoying it. My favourite songs are Dead Poet, The Mirror Never Lies, Give Me Reason, Grim Sleeper and C8h18 (Gasoline). The music is hard hitting metal with the high pitched screeching vocals but the ladies also have beautiful, melodic voices that mix well with the rest of the tones. Check them out, they are awesome and pretty fucking hot too.
